Himatsuri

It all started with
a small gathering
of friends.

In 1982 (Showa 57), 36 kiln owners gathered in an empty lot in Kasama Art Village, surrounding handmade field kilns to sell Kasamayaki and food.

Initially, it was about enjoying themselves. The style of the "fair," where makers themselves sold pottery, which was still rare at the time, combined with the atmosphere, garnered acclaim, and the event grew larger every year.

Even after more than 40 years since its inception, from venue setup to event management, the spirit of its beginnings is never forgotten. With a playful spirit and hospitality, we welcome many visitors every year.
